The CATPRO 3000 was designed for measuring the cell density of a substrate. Because the customer needs are to inspect for cell density specifically, Miralogix combined existing CATPRO hardware and software to deliver a tool that performed only the required inspections. This saves the customer the additional cost of unwanted features and system complexity.
A universal size inspection deck provides automatic substrate sensing. Substrates are manually placed on the protective coated platform for horizontal viewing in a 0.1 to 2 square inch area. Inspection of cell density, cell count and cells per square inch from 25 – 900 count can be obtained in less that 1 second for ceramic or steel catalytic substrates and Diesel Particulate Filters. System design and efficiency decreases manual handling and viewer error at key inspection points along the production line.
The software provides centralized data collection for defect detection and measurement for nonconformance to specification. Data can be generated and reported after extrusion and before/after firing to detect catalytic substrate defects.
The user interface system provides easy setup, configuration and report generation without affecting the inspection. All acquired data is available via standard touch screen interface and virtual keyboard. A 2X magnification feature in “live mode” aids verification. Advanced reporting capabilities centralize pass/fail data for every key step in the production line for comprehensive reporting. Results are saved to a database with product identification.
